Frequently asked questions

What does a Japan DMC do?

A DMC, or destination management company, designs and runs programs on the ground for groups traveling from abroad: hotels, transport, venues, restaurants, activities and coordination. In Japan, it brings the language, supplier relationships and knowledge of local customs.

Which cities in Japan do you cover?

Our five key destinations are Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Fukuoka and Okinawa. They combine easily by Shinkansen or domestic flight, for example Tokyo to Kyoto in about 2 hours 15 minutes. Other regions can be added on request.

What group sizes do you handle?

We organize events for 30 to 500 participants, from board meetings to conventions, as well as smaller executive trips. For large groups, accommodation is spread across several hotels close to the main venue.

When is the best time for an event in Japan?

Spring and fall offer the best weather but high hotel demand; book 9 to 12 months ahead. June and July are the rainy season, and August to September is peak typhoon season. Winter, outside the year-end holidays, is often better value.

How soon will we receive a proposal?

We reply to every brief within 48 business hours with an initial outline. The detailed proposal, with program concept, hotels and indicative budget ranges, usually follows within the week depending on complexity.

Do you work with overseas event agencies?

Yes. We act as the ground partner for event agencies and can work on a white-label basis. We also work directly with companies, travel managers and HR or sales departments.
