Kaiseki & ryotei — Kyoto

Sokkon Fujimoto

A kappo restaurant in central Kyoto, promoted to one star in the Michelin Guide Kyoto Osaka 2026. The chef practices tea ceremony, flower arrangement and calligraphy as disciplines of self-cultivation; "sokkon", a Zen phrase about valuing the present moment, guides the cooking, the spare setting and the service.

Corporate use

A counter table for a small executive committee, in the spirit of a strategic retreat in Kyoto. For larger groups we spread guests across several restaurants of the same level in Kawaramachi and Gion.

Private rooms & private hire

No private room: a counter facing the kitchen, which can be booked exclusively for 8 to 9 guests.

The menu

A single omakase of 11 to 12 seasonal dishes, conceived like a tea-ceremony meal: carefully built dashi, finely arranged hassun, produce from across Japan. Sake and wines chosen to match the menu.
