5-Day Tokyo and Hakuba Incentive Trip

This 5-day incentive pairs two nights in Tokyo with two nights in Hakuba, in the Northern Alps, for 30 to 100 participants. The group rides the Hokuriku Shinkansen to Nagano (about 1 h 20 from Tokyo Station), visits Zenko-ji temple, then reaches the mountains by coach for a snow day with a choice of skiing, snowboarding or snowshoeing. The contrast between the capital and snowy peaks shapes the whole trip, from January to March.

Objectives

  • Reward performance with a trip beyond the usual Tokyo-Kyoto circuit
  • Show two faces of Japan in one stay: city and mountains
  • Bring skiers and non-skiers together around a snow day with options
  • Keep a smooth pace thanks to the Shinkansen and short transfers

Participant profile

Sales challenge winners, top performers and distribution partners, often on their first visit to Japan. No ski level is required; the program also suits guests from Southeast Asia discovering snow.

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take from Tokyo to Hakuba?

About 3 hours door to door: 1 h 20 on the Hokuriku Shinkansen Kagayaki to Nagano, then 1 h 15 to 1 h 30 by coach depending on snow. We include a visit to Zenko-ji in Nagano to break the journey.

What do participants who don't ski do?

They choose the guided snowshoe walk, a playful first snow experience (sledding, kamakura) or time at the spa and onsen. The whole group meets for lunch, the afternoon team challenge and the gala.

How is luggage handled between Tokyo and Hakuba?

Suitcases are sent by courier from the Tokyo hotel the day before departure and wait for guests in their Hakuba rooms. On the return day, they travel in the coach holds and in a reserved space on the Shinkansen, then on to the airport.

Can the program be reversed to start in Hakuba?

Yes. Starting in the mountains helps with jet lag, and ending in Tokyo leaves time for shopping before the flight. The group then reaches Hakuba by mid-afternoon, which requires a flight landing at Haneda or Narita before 11:00 am.
