Sushi — Osaka

Sushi Shigenaga

An eight-seat sushi counter in Kitashinchi, opened in 2021 and newly awarded one star in the Michelin Guide Kyoto Osaka 2026. The Kagoshima-born chef sources mainly from Kyushu (Amakusa in particular) and from Osaka's Tsuruhashi and Kuromon markets; his Satsuma cut-glass sake cups nod to his roots.

Corporate use

In Kitashinchi, Osaka's business-dining district, a few minutes from the Umeda hotels. Suited to an executive committee of up to eight at the counter; full buyouts are not offered to first-time customers, so we book counter seats subject to availability.

Private rooms & private hire

No private room: a single eight-seat solid-wood counter. It can be booked exclusively for up to 8, but not by first-time guests.

The menu

A single omakase of about 2.5 hours: seasonal fish appetisers, then edomae nigiri (tuna, kohada, prawn, ikura, sea bream, anago and more). Seven or eight seasonal sakes chosen by the owner. Allergies must be declared when booking; wheat and soy cannot be removed, and extensive restrictions may lead the restaurant to decline the booking.
