Izakaya — Tokyo

Yamariki Honkan

A century-old izakaya in Morishita, open since 1925 right by the subway exit and famous for its nikomi: offal simmered for more than six hours in Hatcho miso and wine, served with garlic toast. A long list of yakiton (grilled pork offal skewers) and a surprisingly deep wine list complete the experience. Ranked among Tabelog's top 100 izakaya and featured by Eater.

Corporate use

An authentic taste of old-town Shitamachi Tokyo for sub-groups of 6 to 10, often paired with a visit to Kiyosumi or a nearby sumo stable. Reservations cover only part of the room and are not taken on Saturdays, so we secure them well in advance.

Private rooms & private hire

No private room: a ground-floor counter, tables and an upstairs room. Only table seats can be booked, for 2 to 10 guests, by phone, for arrival Monday to Friday between opening and 18:00, with no time limit afterwards.

The menu

Two signatures: nikomi, beef offal (small intestine and abomasum) simmered for over six hours in a broth topped up for nearly 60 years, served with garlic toast; and yakiton, ten cuts of pork offal grilled over charcoal with salt or house sauce. Seasonal small dishes, selected sake and a wine list; English menus are available.
