Frequently asked questions
What is Fukuoka Growth Next?
It is Fukuoka City's public-private startup support center, housed since 2017 in the former Daimyo Elementary School in the city center. It hosts incubated startups, events and the Startup Cafe, a consultation desk open to the public. Group visits are booked in advance and depend on the venue's calendar.
Are the exchanges held in English?
Some founders and support teams speak English, but not all. We provide a consecutive interpreter for each sub-group, with optional simultaneous interpretation for plenary sessions, including into French.
Can we choose which companies to visit?
Yes, within their availability. We propose a shortlist matching your sectors (software, fintech, food, mobility, health…) and goals, then approach the companies. Visits are never guaranteed until confirmed in writing.
Can this program be timed with a startup event?
Yes. Fukuoka hosts conferences and pitch competitions each year that draw international visitors. Aligning dates with one of them enriches the meetings, but hotels fill faster: we check the calendar from the first conversation.
