Corporate use

Perfect for a kawayuka dinner with a sub-group of 10 to 20, or a buyout for up to about 25 seated guests. Several banquet courses help keep the budget under control; for a group of 60 we often combine two or three Pontocho addresses.

Private rooms & private hire

The "Hon-juraku no ma" tatami room facing the Kamo (buyout for 15 to 22), a tatami room for 12 to 24, a sunken-table room for 6 to 12, a table room for 8 to 14 and small stone-walled rooms for 2 to 6. In summer, a kawayuka terrace over the river. Whole-house buyout for 20 to 50.

The menu

Seasonal Kyoto cuisine with fish bought by the head chef at the market each morning: sashimi, hassun, grilled fish, hot pots. Three tiers of banquet courses, weekday courses with free-flow drinks and kawayuka menus in summer. English menu available.

Frequently asked questions

Can the restaurant be bought out?

Yes, the house can be booked exclusively for 20 to 50; seated banquet capacity is about 25, or 50 standing.

When is the kawayuka terrace open?

Every summer, roughly from May to mid-October; exact dates are announced each year.

How do we host a group of 60?

We split the group between Robin and two other Pontocho restaurants, then bring everyone together for a drink by the Kamo.
