Teppanyaki — Okinawa

Captain's Inn Kokusai-dori (teppanyaki steak)

A teppanyaki steakhouse on Kokusai-dori, moved here in 2005 by a house founded in Higashimachi, and a fixture of Okinawa's steak culture. Across two floors and about 130 seats with ship-themed décor, each table surrounds a griddle where a dedicated chef cooks beef, spiny lobster and jumbo shrimp in front of guests, with his tricks: lightning-fast pepper slicing, garlic toast flipped in the air.

Corporate use

A festive, relaxed dinner for an incentive group on Kokusai-dori: the chefs' show livens up every table and no speeches are needed. The house offers group menus, the same for everyone, from 7 guests and booked the day before, plus a free shuttle between hotel and restaurant for parties of 15 or more booked in advance. A large group is spread over several teppan tables, each with its own chef. No private rooms and a tourist atmosphere: not the place for a confidential conversation.

Private rooms & private hire

No private rooms: two floors with about 130 seats in total, arranged around teppanyaki tables. Booking a whole floor is discussed with the reservation center.

The menu

Steak courses (tenderloin from 150 to 300 g), steak and seafood courses with spiny lobster or jumbo shrimp, and an Okinawan wagyu and Agu pork course, each with the house sides: "dancing fish" konjac, purple sweet potato, grilled island tofu, goya champuru, soup, salad, garlic bread or rice. 80-minute all-you-can-eat plans with or without drinks, and a children's course.
